Inside the Disneyland Hotel's Big Thunder Suite

Big Thunder Suite entrance

(This post is part of a series of sneak peeks into the Signature Suites at the Disneyland Hotel.  All five themed suites -- Pirates of the Caribbean SuiteBig Thunder SuiteMickey Mouse Penthouse,
Adventureland Suite, and the Fairy Tale Suite   -- are on the 11th floor of the Dreams Tower.  All except the Fairy Tale Suite sleep 6, with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living and dining area.)

The Big Thunder Suite is very similar in layout to the Pirates of the Caribbean Suite and Adventureland Suite:  the entryway opens up into the living/dining area, and on opposite sides of the living/dining area are a master bedroom (with onsuite bath) and a second bedroom with bath.  The suite sleeps up to 6, so I'm assuming the sofa in the living room opens up into a sofa bed.

If you like luxurious dude ranches, this is the suite for you. I would describe this suite as rustic if it weren't for the little high-tech touches you'll find throughout.  Howling wolves sound when you push the suite's doorbell.  The sound of a runaway mine train echoes through the entryway (made to look like a mine shaft) when you bush a button on the wall.  The walls of the living/dining area are accented with rough timber planks and stone. The flat panel tv above the fireplace is cleverly concealed by a painting reflecting the outdoorsy theme.

The master bedroom has a distinct Marlboro Man vibe, with its leather chair, leather-accented headboard, leather-wrapped pillow, and suede bedspread. Thankfully, smoking Marlboros or any other cigarettes is not allowed.

I love the floor-to-ceiling corner window in the second bedroom.  I also love the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad poster hanging on the wall!

Thankfully, the bathrooms only look rustic.  The chain-flush toilet is as modern as they come, and you don't need to walk for miles to fill the copper-basin sink with water; just turn on the tap!  The master bath also has a beautiful copper soaking tub.

This is really one beautiful suite. It looks so relaxing to stay in there. But how much does it cost to experience the luxury of this suite?
